Welcome to the 'about me' section of the site, which I hope will give you an insight into the profession of horse dentistry and clipping as well as give a rounded chronicle of my experience working with horses to date.

I have over 20 years worth of experience working with horses. I began in hunt service as a groom with the Belvoir hunt for three years. There followed service in the Cottesmore and a move to the Blankney Hunt as 'whipper in' for two years.

I finished my career in hunt service as 'whipper in' for the Essex hunt for three years.

During this time, I gained a breadth of valuable knowledge and experience in all aspects of horsemanship.

After this I continued my affair with horses, competing, team chasing, cross country and point-to-point racing.

I have since worked with racing yards, exercising on the gallops, schooling, bringing on young horses etc.

I learnt to clip horses during my time in hunt service and have been doing this professionally ever since.

I have dealt with many troubled horses that have required vet sedation before being seen, but have managed to win their trust over time and eventually the need for sedation no longer becomes an issue.

I undertook a residential course in 2002 at the Shires Equine Dentistry College, gaining my qualification as an Equine Dental Technician. I have been working as a self-employed dental tech for the last three years.

As part of my continuing professional development, I continue to attend courses run by the BEVA and BEVDA.

I attend various houses and yards in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire. I have recently been approached by a local yard owner that I attend to go to work on yards horses in Spain.
